Catherine’s Poignant Thanks for Quiet Loyalty

In her message, Catherine poignantly stated: “I sincerely thank everyone who silently supported William and me throughout rehearsals. The “Quietly” was the loudest word. When you sit at the top of the pyramid, Material Privileges are a given, but notions of Loyalty and privacy become rare commodities.

Thus, Catherine publicly acknowledged: All those who “Quietly” worked to heal her. All those who kept “Quiet” about her health ordeal when it would have been so lucrative for them to speak up. And All those who respected their privacy, gave them the time and space, to navigate this journey and found a way out.

Today People Mag, published a story about a cancer survivor who met Catherine 2 days ago. Angela Terry, 71, was diagnosed with EGFR-positive lung cancer in 2019 and survived.

She is currently the non-executive chair of EGFR Positive UK, a charity that fights lung cancer caused by mutations. Angela said, “She was here to thank the people who cared for her and to talk to patients who were in a similar situation. It is not necessary to know what type of cancer she had. All we know is that she had surgery, chemotherapy, and a year later, my God, here she is.”

Terry also explained that he respected the way Catherine conveyed her message of remission: “It would have been difficult for her to talk about her experience of remission, because some very sick people never go into remission, and that would have been difficult. But she decided to do it when she was already dead, and that says a lot.

“Then, when I read that Kate is in remission, it doesn’t mean that she has moved on. This disease changes you, but it also allows you to think: ‘OK, who am I now? Who do I want to be?

Terry finally concluded that Catherine was “so much more than she expected her to be” regarding her demeanor in meeting everyone: “She has a lot of self-confidence and elegance, she is frank and authentic. She is very friendly. I’ve seen her talk to other patients and she’s fantastic. “She has this gentle eye contact as she talks, she reaches out and maybe touches their shoulder or holds their hand and her smile is always there. The connection she makes with every person she meets is phenomenal.”

Another cancer patient who met her echoed this sentiment. Peter Burton, 60, opened up about the special moment, saying, “She made me feel like the only person in the room.”

“Speaking to Kate, who herself has been through cancer, was special. When you see the Royal Family on TV they are carrying out a role; but Kate was extremely personable, genuinely interested in what I had to say, and took time one-on-one with me and every patient.”

Those firsthand feedbacks, truly prove why Prince Philip was adamant about teaching Catherine that Royal life was about service to others and taking interest in others, not looking for the camera or being a celebrity.

Indeed, Catherine takes the time to look at who she is talking to and truly listens to them. It is that genuine attention she gives to everyone she meets, that is exactly the essence of her massive popularity.

Today, the pupil has outdone the mentor; Catherine sits with 79% approval in front of both the late Queen and even Prince William who still score a very high 74%.

Imagine that…

The commoner who was underestimated and snubbed for being a quiet middle-class outsider; with coal miners great grandparents from her mother’s side, is now the beloved and most popular face of the 1000-year-old monarchy and leads even in front of the Heir, King, and Queen and ALL blue blood royals combined.
