It’s been only three years since Meghan and Harry’s venture, Archewell, faces its final trademark delay. With the Archetype trademark officially concluded, some questions arise. Does this mean that Archewell Audio is also reaching its end? This would leave only Archewell Productions and Archewell Original, allegedly designated for philanthropy.
Archewell Productions appears to have only one staff member, and Archewell itself has been facing troubles with the Trademark Office. They’ve exhausted all five extensions permitted, and it’s now in its last one. Reportedly, attempt four of five was due to a lack of clarity regarding purpose and product.
Kevin Carner’s content has seemingly been used to divert attention from Archewell’s struggles. The same applies to Harry’s involvement with other organizations like BetterUp, which doesn’t seem to connect with the successful Invictus project.
Concerningly, Archewell’s staff turnover continues, and it appears to be downsizing. According to a source, French journalists visited their empty office space in Beverly Hills, discovering no activity related to filing documents. There’s even a recorded video of this visit showcasing the vacant offices.
These journalists have produced a documentary to expose the company’s lack of transparency. Archewell, often centered around Meghan, has raised suspicions of being used to funnel money. It appeared strange that Harry was seemingly not directing substantial funds in or out of the project, as well as taking on positions at other organizations.
Regarding Archewell Productions, it was announced in April that WME was tasked with making it operational. Speculation abounds that the Charles are no longer part of Archewell Productions, Archewell Audio might be defunct, and the remaining staff seem more focused on self-promotion and guest speaking.
This entire situation appears to be a distraction from the fact that Archewell has not fared well and might eventually close. Despite having signed Meghan in January, WME has reportedly not provided a single contract for her.
Notably, Meghan and Harry received a $10 million donation from a California foundation in 2022, but this hefty sum wasn’t directed to any charity. Questions arise about how they’ve used this significant amount, especially since it’s almost the end of 2023.
Furthermore, there were reports of donations going to Meghan’s attorney, raising eyebrows about the use of these funds. Last year, hundreds of thousands of dollars from Archewell reportedly went to Meghan’s attorney.
Archewell Charities, which was meant to promote Meghan’s personal brand, has raised concerns about a lack of transparency. While celebrities can indeed engage in fundraisers to elevate a cause’s profile, the extensive self-promotion, often accompanied by staged photos, raises ethical questions.
Earlier, it was exclusively revealed that Meghan and Harry’s Archewell trademark application for their nonprofit had been rejected. The application, which lacked their signatures, was deemed too vague, and the fees were unpaid. It was filed by Cobblestone Lane LLC, registered in Delaware but connected to a Hollywood lawyer who has worked for Meghan for years.
The International Bureau considered the list of goods and services for the nonprofit too unclear for proper classification.
