THE STORY OF THE MAN WHO PREFERRED PRISON RATHER THAN CONTINUING TO LIVE WITH HIS WIFE

This story would seem like a crazy plot if it were not for the fact that it really happened.

Lawrence Ripple, a 70-year-old man with heart problems, showed up at a bank counter one day and handed the teller a piece of paper that said he was a robber and that he had to give him all the takings or he would open fire.

The teller, obviously frightened, followed orders, handing over all the takings to the new robber.

However, after Lawrence Ripple came into possession of the loot, instead of running away, he calmly went to sit on a chair in the bank.

In the meantime, the police, who had been previously alerted, arrived and took the man into custody, but not before explaining the reason for his bizarre robbery.

The man replied that he could no longer stand his wife and, having nowhere else to go, he found no better solution than to commit a crime to end up in prison.

So when the man appeared before the judge expecting a sentence for which one risks up to 15 years, the judge, moved by the reasons for the insane act, commuted the sentence to 7 months of house arrest.

Lawrence Ripple, upon the issuance of the sentence, became agitated and while he was being escorted out by the officers, he begged the judge to commute the detention to prison.

But there was no way. So Lawrence Ripple, had to serve his sentence at home without the possibility of even going out for a walk, putting up with his wife 24 hours a day.

Next time he will probably think of a more substantial crime
